About This Position

Massage Therapist - Hospice

ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT

The massage therapist for hospice is responsible to providing massage therapy services to hospice patients and their care providers according to the Hospice Care Plan.

Job Requirements
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Massage for comfort purposes according to patient plan of care. Must have ability to proficiently document care given. Excellent communication skills required with other hospice staff, patients and caregivers. Ability to appropriately manage time and patient needs is required.

License/Certification
Must have a valid state license or valid temporary permit as a Licensed Massage Therapist, issued by the State of Oregon Board of Massage Therapists. BLS certification required through the American Heart Association. Must have own vehicle in safe working order. Must have a valid driver’s license and have documentation of current vehicle insurance per CMH policy.

Education and/or Experience
Education sufficient to complete massage therapy licensure is required. Preferred one year experience with massage and Hospice patients.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Works inside. Walking and standing much of the time while on duty. Subject to occasional stress in fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines. Must be capable of providing treatments, some of which will require strength. Aware of proper body mechanics at all times. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment. Transfer patients to/from beds, chairs and ambulates as necessary. Must have ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
