About This Position
Responsible for performing all technical functions, as well as providing technical direction and support in projects. Maintains manufacturing planning control and supports project schedule, steel processing, and fabrication through project life cycle. Ensures the health and safety of all associates is protected. Provides increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Drive continuous improvements working with a cross functional wage and salary team.
- Assist Management in contract review, kick-off, and planning for all projects as required.
- Lead initiatives to enhance processes and efficiencies, collaborating with a cross-functional team of wage and salary professionals.
- Apply extensive knowledge of design, production, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to meet product design objectives.
- Employ CAD software and other design and modeling tools to create detailed engineering drawings, design fixtures, and develop innovative tool concepts.
- Accurately quantify raw materials, processes, and hardware required for various projects.
- Perform thorough technical reviews of design disclosures to ensure compliance with all notes, specifications, and flow-down requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the product lifecycle, addressing technical queries and ensuring satisfaction.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all technical functions performed in any given project, ensuring expertise and reliability.
- Actively participate in the implementation of departmental development and improvement initiatives, contributing to overall growth and success.
- Create detailed Build Plans and Manufacturing Plans to guide the production process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial) or related field from an accredited college, university or technical school
- 10+ years related experience and/or training in engineering or manufacturing; or equivalent training in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- 10+ Years of experience using SolidWorks preferred; not required.
- 10+ Years of experience using AutoCAD preferred; not required.
- This position requires that the person be a highly organized individual, who is self-motivated, and can work independently.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and contribute moderately to complex aspects of a project.
- Preferred knowledge of fabrication and assembly practices, tools and fixturing.
- Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.
- Must excel at working in a team environment.
- Must be able to familiarize product construction and internal applications.
- Must have knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
- Must have very strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
- Will be computer proficient. Preferred experience with shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications.

Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel out of state for training as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
- Lift up to 25lbs.
Work Environment:
- Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
