About This Position
Summary of Primary Functions: The Pipefitter is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems used for water, gas, steam, and other industrial processes. This role requires working from blueprints and adhering to strict safety standards to ensure systems are installed efficiently and safely on construction sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine pipe layout and installation.Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools.Assemble and install pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures according to project requirements.Inspect and test piping systems for leaks, pressure integrity, and proper operation.Install supports, hangers, and brackets for piping systems.Collaborate with welders, plumbers, and other trades on-site.Follow all rigging and hoisting procedures when handling heavy pipe materials.Maintain tools and ensure proper storage and handling of materials.Identify and troubleshoot system issues or installation challenges.
Experience, Qualifications and Key CompetenciesHigh school diploma or GED.Proven experience as a pipefitter in construction or industrial settings.Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.Knowledge of pipefitting tools and equipment.Basic math and measurement skills.High school diploma or GED.Proven experience as a pipefitter in construction or industrial settings.Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.Knowledge of pipefitting tools and equipment.Basic math and measurement skills.
