About This Position
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Supports the use of SharePoint by maintaining the platform, resolving issues, and assisting users with site management and collaboration tools. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert, helping teams adopt SharePoint capabilities while maintaining consistent governance and security controls.
Essential Functions

- Administer and maintain the organization’s SharePoint Online environment, including sites, libraries, lists, and content structures.
- Manage user access, permissions, and sharing settings to ensure appropriate security and data protection.
- Monitor platform health and performance; troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint related issues and incidents.
- Enforce SharePoint governance, retention, and compliance requirements in coordination with information security and records management policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users regarding SharePoint usage, site management, and collaboration tools.
- Support integration between SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, and configuration records related to the SharePoint platform.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary for ongoing efficient and effective functioning of the Information Technology department.
Skills/Abilities
- Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, workflows, and integration with Microsoft 365 services (knowledge of Power Platform development is a plus).
- Familiarity with SharePoint migration (experience with ShareGate is a plus).
- Knowledge of PowerShell for SharePoint administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
Travel
Limited local travel may be required for this position.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent additional related experience) required.
- Three or more years of experience administering a SharePoint environment including site creation, permission management, and governance is required.
- Five or more years of experience working with Microsoft SharePoint environments, particularly SharePoint Online, is preferred.
