About This Position
Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, South America and Australia. Our company’s success is driven by our dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local area’s economy and sense of community.
The Role
This is not a traditional project management role. While you will plan and track work, the real differentiator is how you show up: you build trust fast, communicate with confidence, create momentum, and hold people accountable without relying on authority. You work in tandem with the Capability Technology Manager to ensure delivery is aligned, resourced, and unblocked. You partner closely with BSAs/BAs to ensure requirements are clear and actionable. You are the person the team looks to when things need to move.
With the tools available today, much of the administrative side of delivery - plans, status updates, risk logs, documentation - can be produced faster than ever. That means the value of this role is not in generating artifacts. It is in the ability to read a room, drive a difficult conversation, build confidence with stakeholders, and create the momentum that keeps delivery on track. That is what this role is about.
Key Responsibilities
- Own delivery execution for assigned capability initiatives from initiation through close-out, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time and within scope.
- Work in tandem with the Capability Technology Manager to align delivery priorities, manage resource constraints, and resolve technical blockers.
- Partner with Business Systems Analysts and Business Analysts to ensure requirements are well-defined, validated, and delivery ready.
- Engage directly with business capability owners and stakeholders to build trust, manage expectations, and maintain alignment throughout delivery.
- Drive a sense of urgency across delivery teams-proactively identify stalls, escalate early, and keep work moving forward.
- Facilitate delivery ceremonies (standups, sprint reviews, planning sessions) with purpose and energy-not just process.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change activities with a bias toward action and resolution.
- Communicate project status clearly and confidently to stakeholders and leadership-both verbally and in writing.
- Leverage available tools to accelerate planning, documentation, reporting, and analysis, freeing time to focus on people and outcomes.
- Ensure project documentation meets PMO governance standards and is accurate, current, and decision ready.
- Support benefits tracking and ensure delivered work connects to measurable business outcomes.
- Contribute to PMO continuous improvement through lessons learned and delivery practice refinement.
What Success Looks Like
- Stakeholders trust you and want you on their initiatives because you deliver and communicate with confidence.
- Work moves forward with urgency-blockers are surfaced and resolved quickly, not left to linger.
- The Capability Technology Manager and business capability owners see you as an indispensable delivery partner.
- Requirements are clear, decisions are made, and teams know what they are accountable for.
- AI tools are used effectively to eliminate low-value administrative work, allowing you to focus on leadership and stakeholder engagement.
- Initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and clearly connected to business outcomes.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Delivery leadership: planning, execution, and driving outcomes across cross-functional teams.
- Stakeholder engagement and trust-building at all levels of the organization.
- Confident verbal and written communication, including executive-level updates and facilitation.
- Risk, issue, dependency, and change management with a bias toward action.
- Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery approaches—applied pragmatically, not dogmatically.
- Effective use of AI-powered productivity and delivery tools.
- Collaboration and coordination across IT, business, and vendor teams.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time management under pressure.
Behaviors That Drive Success
- Urgency & Drive – You move fast, follow through, and do not let work stall. You create momentum.
- Trust & Credibility – You earn confidence through honesty, reliability, and doing what you say you will do.
- Communication & Presence – You speak clearly, listen actively, and command a room when needed.
- Accountability – You own outcomes. When things go sideways, you act - not blame.
- Collaboration & Influence – You bring people together and align teams without relying on formal authority.
- Adaptability – You adjust your approach to what the situation demands - not what a template prescribes.
- Outcome Driven – You focus on delivering measurable value, not just completing tasks.
- Growth Mindset – You seek feedback, learn from delivery, and continuously sharpen your craft.
Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Practical experience applying Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Strong verbal communication skills - you can facilitate a room, present to leadership, and have difficult conversations with confidence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience with collaboration and delivery tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and MS Project.
- Comfort using AI-powered tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) to support planning, reporting, and documentation.
- PMP or similar project management certification is an asset but not required; Delivery results and leadership presence matter more.
