About This Position

Job Summary: The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing the overall business operations and facility management of Horizons Edge Sports Campus. This role ensures that all operational functions—including facility maintenance, customer service, staffing, scheduling, and program logistics—run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with Horizon’s mission, vision, and values.

Duties:

  • Oversee the overall operations of Horizons Edge, managing operational teams, maintaining high facility standards, implementing operational policies and procedures, and ensuring exceptional customer experience for employees, participants, guests, and community partners
  • Work with Executive Leadership to establish operational performance standards, procedures, and best practices and ensure consistent adherence across all departments
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness
  • Ensure all surfaces, equipment, lighting, HVAC, and building systems are maintained to professional standards scheduling repairs and preventative servicing as needed
  • Manage vendor relationships for maintenance, repairs, and facility services
  • Oversee Campus Manager and Program Director to hire, train, and supervise part-time staff of all departments including providing coaching, and professional development opportunities ensuring strong hiring and developmental practices
  • Conduct performance evaluations and maintain accountability for operational standards
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and customer service excellence ensuring a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for all employees, participants, guests, and community partners
  • Ensure profit centers are operating efficiently and meeting budgetary goals
  • Assist with operational budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
  • Monitor operational expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and track operational metrics reporting back to Executive Leadership
  • Act as operational business partner with Executive Leadership team members ensuring open communication and understanding of organizational standards.
  • Ensure all team members are accountable to assigned responsibilities and implement corrective coaching and/or action when obligations are not fulfilled
  • Ensure efficient allocation of staffing and resources
  • Support revenue-generating initiatives including rentals, leagues, tournaments, and events with a focus on fulfilling operating capacity.
  • Coordinate scheduling and space utilization to maximize facility efficiency
  • Work closely with Campus Manager and Program Director to ensure seamless execution of all events and programs
  • Address customer concerns and operational issues promptly and professionally
  • Ensure compliance with and adherence to local safety regulations and policies, building codes, risk management policies and emergency procedures
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Coordinate incident reporting and response procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sports, or facility management, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in operations, facility or event management, sports administration or a related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of sportsplex operations best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency using computer programs such as Microsoft office 365, DaySmart, and other operational planning programs.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays required
  • Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period
