Position Summary
The Senior Evaluation & Impact Specialist supports Methodist Healthcare Ministries’ (MHM) mission by designing and leading complex, evaluation strategies that inform program improvement, strategic decision-making, and organizational learning. This role serves as the department’s technical subject matter expert, advancing methodological rigor, strengthening evaluation standards, and elevating the overall quality of data use across the organization.
Salary
The annual salary rate begins at $78,701. Mid range at $100,344. Actual starting rate will be commensurate with experience and education.
Scope and Impact
The Senior Evaluation & Impact Specialist plays a critical role in establishing evaluation frameworks, setting methodological standards, and guiding the design and implementation of complex evaluations. This role advances organizational evaluation systems, ensures quality assurance across projects, and strengthens data-informed learning and decision-making across MHM programs.
Decision-Making Authority
Operates under the direction of the Director of Impact, Evaluation & Learning while exercising independent judgment in designing evaluations, managing projects, analyzing data, and presenting findings. Makes recommendations on evaluation methods, tools, and reporting approaches to improve learning and impact assessment across departments.
Interactions / Working Relationships
Collaborates closely with the Impact, Evaluation & Learning team, Organizational Excellence Department, program managers, leadership, and community stakeholders. Builds partnerships with cross-functional teams to support evaluation planning, capacity building, and the application of data for continuous improvement. Interacts with both internal and external audiences to communicate insights and strengthen evaluation practices. Interacts with and oversees external evaluation consultants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of complex, cross-functional evaluation initiatives, ensuring methodological rigor, alignment with organizational strategy, and actionable insights for program improvement and impact measurement.
- Design advanced quantitative methodologies, oversee data collection processes, and conduct sophisticated statistical analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
- Design and oversee qualitative research methodologies, ensuring high-quality data collection, rigorous coding practices, and integration of findings into broader strategic insights.
- Perform secondary data analysis, literature reviews, and environmental scans to inform evaluation projects.
- Synthesize complex evaluation findings into executive-level narratives and strategic recommendations, presenting results to senior leadership and key stakeholders through high-quality reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor on evaluation design and data strategy, providing high-level consultation to internal departments and guiding the application of best practices in impact measurement.
- Apply an equity and inclusion lens to all evaluation activities, ensuring participatory approaches that address disparities and uplift community voices.
- Contribute to portfolio prioritization and resource planning by reviewing evaluation requests, assessing complexity and strategic alignment, and advising departmental leadership on project selection and sequencing.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the organization’s evaluation knowledge management systems, ensuring documentation, accessibility, and cross-program learning.
- Provide guidance to the ongoing improvement of evaluation systems, processes, tools, and approaches with the Impact, Evaluation & Learning department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory or Leadership Responsibilities
This position does not supervise others but provides advanced technical leadership, mentorship, and structured guidance to Impact, Evaluation & Learning team members and other staff engaged in evaluation activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field required.
- Licenses/Certifications: None
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in research, evaluation, or statistics required.
- Other Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines.
- Commitment to using data for learning, improvement, and advancing equity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Evaluation, or related field.
- Experience in nonprofit, community-based, or public health settings.
- Experience working with underserved populations or addressing health disparities.
- Experience or certification in project management.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

- Ability to synthesize multiple sources of data to develop clear, actionable insights.
- Proficient in descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
- Ability to design and conduct qualitative data coding and thematic analysis.
- Skilled in creating data visualizations, infographics, and accessible reporting formats.
- Effective facilitator able to engage diverse audiences in data interpretation and learning.
- High attention to detail with the ability to balance technical accuracy and storytelling.
- Ability to interpret and present complex data through tables, graphs, and visualizations for clarity and impact.
Language Skills
- Fluent in English required; bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret professional documents, reports, and data outputs.
- Able to write clear, accurate reports and present findings effectively to executives, program staff, and external audiences.
Technology and Tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
- Demonstrated experience using either quantitative statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, R, Tableau and/or qualitative analysis software, such as ATLAS.ti or NVivo.
- Demonstrated experience using software to effectively clean, analyze, and visualize data required.
- Experience with survey software such as Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey strongly preferred.
- Experience with database and project management tools (Airtable, Smartsheet), preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with occasional travel to community sites and partner locations.
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending, and reaching required.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds.
- Requires valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines or conduct field activities.
