The Company:

HF Custom (formerly Sam Moore), a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation is looking for a Furniture Assembler to join their team in our Bedford, VA plant.

Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.

The Position:

We are looking for a dependable candidate who enjoys working independently to join our assembly team. This individual will use hand tools and manual dexterity to complete furniture frames.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

• Using a variety of tools to assemble pre-cut and pre-fabricated wooden parts to form complete frames.
• Keeping stock together and following production schedule.
• Reading and comprehending simple instructions.
• Performing basic math calculations.
• Carrying out detailed written and oral instructions, and problem solving.
• Standing for majority of shift, frequently walking; reaching with hands and arms.

Candidates that will be a great fit will:

• Enjoy independent work and meeting deadlines

• Have previous assembly experience
• Have a mechanical mindset and enjoy seeing how things are put together
• Be able to lift up to 50lbs. as needed to move frames

Shift: Monday to Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm .
