Adventure Rental Attendant

Spanish Peaks is a private community situated on 3,500 acres nestled at 7,700 feet in stunning Big Sky, Montana. We are about 40 miles away from Bozeman, Belgrade, and West Yellowstone, Montana.

The Adventure Rental Attendant will be accountable for performing the daily tasks associated with the Nordic, Snowshoe and Ski Rental program. The Winter Adventure Rental Attendant will be accountable for performing the daily tasks associated with on property Adventure Equipment Rentals, Equipment Maintenance, and Winter Trail Upkeep. This includes, but is not limited to, equipment for Nordic Skiing, Backcountry Skiing, Snowshoeing and Trail Maintenance. Our Adventure Rental Attendants will perform rental duties as well as equipment repair and maintenance. This position is both member facing for rental processes and back of house for equipment maintenance and repair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Fluency in English.
  • Highly organized and flexible.
  • Ability to create activities for all ages.
  • Knowledge of hotel, resort and/or club operations.
  • Ability to coordinate with other departments.
  • Ability to ensure that the safety, security, and confidentiality of all children is of utmost importance.
  • Ability to promote a positive image and display a pleasant and upbeat personality during all guest interactions.
  • Ability to interact positively with children ages 5-16 Years Old for full day, high energy programs.
  • Ability to think independently and creatively regarding winter youth operations and activities.
  • Knowledge of, or an ability to learn, winter outdoor adventure activities and maintenance for equipment related to Nordic Skiing, Backcountry Skiing and Snowshoeing.
  • Must maintain a positive guest facing presence during equipment rental process.
  • Familiarity with Nordic Skiing, Backcountry Ski Equipment & Snowshoe Operations.
  • Background in equipment rental.
  • Ability to learn equipment maintenance skills such as ski waxing, snowshoe repair, Nordic waxing, etc.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Self-starter; able to carry out diverse duties with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to ensure the safety, security, and confidentiality of all guests.
  • Group management skills with different age groups.
  • Maintain privacy of members per exclusive club operations.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide support to other departments during special events.
  • Other duties as assigned by Youth & Outdoor Adventures Manager, and the Youth & Outdoor Adventures Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High Diploma or equivalent. Current First Aid/AED/CPR certification from an accredited institution is required. This certification can be provided as needed.
  • Prior Winter Equipment Rental or Skiing/Snowshoeing experience preferred. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of the job, the Winter Adventure Rental Attendant must stand, walk, handle or feel objects, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to climb or balance. The associate must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and sometimes lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, this individual will need to participate and supervise physical and active games with children. Some activities will require working outdoors in inclement weather.
