About This Position

Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Designs, manages and performs within a design team in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the Interior Design process including preparation of materials, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, rendering and construction of administration activities within an established budget with specific scheduling, site and programmatic requirements.

A Senior Project Designer leads design scope on entire projects in conjunction with departmental leadership.

Requirements:

EDUCATION

Bachelor / Master Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA accredited or NAAB-accredited program

EXPERIENCE

6+ years

ACCREDITATION

NCIDQ preferred

GENERAL SKILLS

  • Advanced written communication skills
  • Advanced oral presentation skills; able to participate in client presentations and workshops
  • Demonstrates collaborative and professional work ethic
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Complete comprehensive project tasks efficiently in a prescribed time frame with very minimal feedback / redlines from departmental leadership
  • Willing and able to manage client and brand relationships
  • Willing and able to lead one or more project teams
  • Strong experience mentoring, directing and motivating design staff within the studio and project teams

JOB REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Advanced experience with construction materials and FF&E selections / providers
  • Advanced experience in project design specifications, construction documentation, design production, shop drawing review and construction administration
  • Advanced graphic skills in AutoCAD (current release preferred)
  • Advanced experience with InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp
  • Advanced experience rendering in Enscape
  • Advanced knowledge in specification writing (SPEXX experience preferred)
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of design principals, theories, color and materials
  • Manage Quality Control exercises for project team
  • Able to manage project tasks in accordance with project schedules; advanced experience in managing and leading successful projects and/or teams
  • Advanced experience working with project budgets
  • Advanced understanding of hotel brand structures and standards, requirements
  • Provide design direction in accordance with brand-specific standards and guidelines and direct project team to produce design documents that meet brands’ submittal standards
  • Assist in maintaining departmental documentation and standards
  • Advanced project management ability to plan/oversee day-today and monthly tasks and time as it relates to monthly hours allocated by team leader
  • Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with outside vendors and consultants
