Sport Administration Faculty Position
The University of New Mexico (UNM), located in Albuquerque, is the state's flagship public research university. The Sport Administration program, housed within the Department of Health, Exercise & Sports Sciences in the College of Education and Human Sciences, has a long-standing tradition of preparing students for leadership roles in sport organizations. Established in 1979, the program offers both master's and doctoral degrees. Currently, the program is in the process of developing an undergraduate program in sport management. The program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sport Administration, beginning August 2026.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to sustain an active research agenda, teach a variety of graduate and undergraduate-level courses in Sport Administration and related areas. In addition, the successful candidate will advise master's and doctoral-level students and contribute to service on related degree committees. They will be expected to participate in the collaborative development of an undergraduate degree program in Sport Management, supervise graduate-level internships, and maintain regular office hours.

1. Doctorate in Sport Administration or a closely-related field. Degree must be completed by start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated research productivity through publications, conference presentations, or dissertation research in Sport
Administration.
2. Evidence of effective teaching at the college level, with experience or strong potential in graduate education.
3. Ability to chair or serve on doctoral dissertation committees and comprehensive exam committees for both M.S. and Ph.D.
students.
4. Record of professional and university service through committee work, professional organizations, or community
engagement.
5. A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success
of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
