OB Surgical Tech (Certified) Labor & Delivery at North Kansas City Hospital – North Kansas City, Missouri

SUMMARY: summary: Under the direction of the nurse manager, functions in a support role to the nursing staff by assuring that supplies and equipment are stocked, readily available and working properly, instruments are correctly sterilized and delivery carts and warmers are set up for deliveries. Performs surgical scrub duties in the OR area according to standards and policies. Assists the staff nurse in care of the patient through data collection and provision of basic care as directed. Maintains a neat and orderly department and supply area.

EXPERIENCE: Experience as a CNA or a medical assistant or one year in the OR setting. Surgical scrub experience or formal training.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Knowledge of sterility concepts. Organization skills to perform multiple tasks.

OTHER: Basic computer skills, completion of maternity care rotation in nursing program preferred.

LICENSE/CERT: Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)

EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent
