About This Position
Summary
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for implementing safety policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety awareness. This role is vital in minimizing risks, preventing accidents, and promoting occupational health across all departments. The Safety Coordinator will also lead training initiatives and conduct thorough investigations to identify root causes of safety incidents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Establish and implement safety programs designed to reduce injuries, including development of safety policy.
- Supervise and coordinate the company’s safety program and OSHA training programs for facilities.
- Assist in accident investigations, recommend corrective action and follow-up.
- Publish and distribute safety-related materials as appropriate.
- Conduct periodic inspections or assure they are accomplished through other sources, i.e.: Fire extinguishers and other portable firefighting equipment, cranes and hoists, daily machine and general safety inspections.
- Develop and conduct safety training activities and monitor effectiveness.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations and industrial processes.
- Conducts 6S and safety inspections of manufacturing facility.
- Coordinates with the department responsible for correcting safety deficiencies.
- Facilitate safety committees to achieve pre-determined goals and objectives.
- Coordinate / monitor First Responder program.
- Coordinate and monitor all aspects of the worker’s compensation program, to ensure proper care and facilitate employees’ return to work. Work with managers to accommodate employees on restricted duty. Receive all accident reports.
- Observe plant operations and make recommendations for additional safety training programs.
- Follow all safety procedures.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology or Safety Professional Certification plus two years of higher education or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements.
- Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment is preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ practical experience in safety position, preferably in an industrial setting.
