Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Trauma PCU/Critical Care & Burn Unit - Full-time, Night Shift

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 6:45 pm - 7:15 am
• Positions require 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Team members may be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts in response to census fluctuations.
Department highlights:
• Justin 5 is a 35-bed Surgical Trauma Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Burn Unit. On August 10, the unit will open with 18 surgical trauma PCU beds and 9 burn beds, with plans to expand to the full 35 beds later in the year. This unit provides higher-acuity surgical trauma and burn care, including treatment in a dedicated hydrotherapy procedure room for the burn population. Although patient populations differ, this is one integrated unit, and staff are expected to work across both care areas.

Here's What You Need
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

Here's What You Need
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- ACLS - within 90 days of hire required
- TNCC or ATCN - within 12 months of hire preferred
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 60 days of hire
- 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
- PCU and/or Critical Care experience preferred - will consider ED experience
- Burn unit experience a plus
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
- demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
- possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
- have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
