This hourly, full-time position is hands-on and highly visible, balancing strong security practices with the high-touch, service-oriented expectations of a luxury hospitality setting. You will oversee day-to-day operations for access control and patrol activities, coach and develop officers on your shift, and serve as a key point of contact for incident response and resolution. Success in this role requires excellent judgment, strong emotional intelligence, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and a guest-first mindset.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and lead security officers on assigned shifts, ensuring consistent adherence to community security policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Oversee access control operations at all gates and entry points, monitoring visitor, resident, vendor, and contractor access to the property.
- Coordinate daily assignments, posts, and patrol routes for officers, adjusting coverage and priorities in real time based on community needs and activity levels.
- Model and reinforce a hospitality-first approach, ensuring all interactions with residents, guests, and staff are courteous, professional, and service-oriented.
- Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and service requests, taking command of on-scene activities and coordinating with leadership and external agencies as needed.
- Conduct shift briefings to communicate priorities, special events, safety concerns, and procedural updates to the team.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training to officers, focusing on de-escalation, communication skills, and luxury service expectations.
- Monitor and review security logs, access reports, and incident documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely follow-up.
- Identify and address potential security risks or vulnerabilities within the community, escalating concerns and recommending improvements when appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with resort operations, front office, golf operations, and other departments to support special events, VIP visits, and high-traffic periods.
- Make real-time decisions and problem-solve under pressure, effectively reprioritizing resources and tasks as situations evolve.
- Ensure that all security equipment, access systems, and communication devices are used properly and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes by providing input on officer performance, training needs, and staffing levels.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the standards of a luxury resort community, setting the tone for the entire team.
- Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion at all times.
Qualifications

- Background in hospitality or guest service, with a clear understanding of luxury service standards and a guest-centric approach to security.
- Proven ability to solve problems quickly and effectively, make sound decisions under pressure, and pivot priorities as conditions change.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, guests, colleagues, and external partners.
- Strong skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and managing difficult conversations while maintaining composure.
- Knowledge of basic security, access control, and patrol procedures; familiarity with incident reporting and documentation standards.
- Ability to learn and effectively use security systems, access control software, radios, and other relevant technology.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and discretion, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting resident and guest privacy.
