ATX Specialty Foods is seeking a Hot Production Team Member to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the 2nd shift Supervisor. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our products are packaged and shipped according to the highest standards while adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Kettle

  • Verify ingredients, lot numbers, and date codes for accuracy for each product run.
  • Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
  • Load materials into the kettle(s) and ensure product quality specifications are met.
  • Operate equipment to feed completed products to the filling equipment, including setting up steel pipes, valves, and machine pumps.
  • Assist in cleaning the production area and equipment, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
  • Identify and remove damaged or defective products from the production line.
  • Load and unload processing equipment.
  • Perform tasks to support production and packaging processes.
  • Follow instructions and directives from the Kettle Operator Supervisor and Kettle Operator Team Lead.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Communicate regularly with the Kettle Operator Supervisor and Kettle Operator Team Lead to meet daily goals and production requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the department area and equipment.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work overtime. Available for evening and weekend hours if needed to fulfill customer requirements.

Filler

  • Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line
  • Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks
  • Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product
  • Make adjustments to filler timing and filling as needed
  • Watch for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent downtime. Report malfunctions to supervisor
  • Ability to perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient matter
  • Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
  • Assist in cleaning the production area and equipment by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
  • Clean and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides.
  • Any tasks that support the processes of the production & packaging of the products on their line.
  • Perform assignments and directives provided by the Supervisor.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines Standards of performance (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP’s), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
  • Communicates regularly with the Production Team Lead.
  • Accountable to meet daily goals set by the operations management to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of department area and equipment.
  • Follow prescribed safety policies as established by the company.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work overtime as required. Available for evening and weekend hours work schedules if needed to fulfill customer requirements.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Ability to follow SOPs and GMP guidelines accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for measuring and weighing materials; ability to use a calculator.
  • Good reading and comprehension skills to understand bulk-manufacturing documentation.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to contribute new ideas and suggestions for improvement.

Physical Demands:

  • Exert up to 60 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs. of force consistently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Required to have a forklift certification or ability to receive certification.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs consistently during the shift.
  • Ability to push, pull, twist, reach, and balance frequently during the shift.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
