Gift of Life Marrow Registry has been curing blood cancer and other life-threatening diseases for 30 years by providing the healthy volunteer donors patients need for lifesaving blood stem cell and marrow transplants.

Our goal is to ensure that every patient in need receives the cellular therapy they need, when they need it.

We have more than 160 staff members located at our headquarters in Boca Raton, which houses the registry, stem cell collection center, and cellular therapy laboratory within our modern, high-tech 45,000-square-foot facility.

About the Role:

The Intern position offers a comprehensive opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and mission-driven environment. This role is designed to provide exposure to various facets of donor recruitment operations, administrative support, and data management, contributing to the overall mission of Gift of Life. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals to gain an understanding of donor recruitment processes, database management, communication workflows, and confidentiality standards.

The major end result of this role is to develop foundational knowledge and practical skills that prepare the intern for a future career in healthcare, nonprofit operations, communications, or administrative services. Through this internship, candidates will enhance their organizational and communication skills, gain experience with data entry and donor information management, and contribute meaningfully to departmental goals and community impact.

Minimum Qualifications:

    Currently enrolled in high school or recently graduated, with an interest in healthcare, nonprofit organizations, communications, business, or a related field.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Comfortable using computers and standard office software such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a professional office environment.Interest in supporting donor recruitment efforts and community impact initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Previous volunteer, school, extracurricular, or internship experience is a plus.

    Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry tasks.

    Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and willingness to learn.

    Ability to adapt in a fast-paced office environment and manage multiple tasks.

    Interest in healthcare, nonprofit work, donor recruitment, or community outreach is preferred.

Responsibilities:

    Assist the Donor Recruitment team with daily administrative and operational tasks.Support data entry, record keeping, and donor information management while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.Help organize and update recruitment records, spreadsheets, and internal databases.Assist with scheduling, preparing materials, and coordinating donor recruitment activities and events.Participate in team meetings and training sessions to learn about nonprofit operations, donor recruitment processes, and community outreach initiatives.Provide general office support, including filing, organizing materials, and assisting with special projects as needed.

Skills:

The required skills, such as communication, organization, and attention to detail, are essential for supporting the Donor Recruitment team and maintaining accurate donor information. The ability to handle sensitive information responsibly and maintain confidentiality is important when working with donor and organizational data. Proficiency in office software enables the intern to efficiently manage documentation, spreadsheets, and administrative tasks.

Collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills are utilized daily to support team projects, manage multiple assignments, and contribute to a fast-paced office environment. Overall, these skills help the intern actively participate in donor recruitment operations while gaining valuable professional experience and contributing to the organization’s mission.
