Millwork Purchasing Manager at 123 – Warrenton, Virginia

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Millwork Purchasing Manager to oversee material procurement for our custom architectural millwork projects. This role is critical to ensuring materials are sourced accurately, cost-effectively, and delivered on schedule to support production and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure lumber, sheet goods, hardware, finishes, and specialty materials for custom millwork projects
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Review shop drawings, cut lists, and specifications to ensure accurate purchasing
• Track material lead times and coordinate deliveries with project managers and shop supervisors
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and freight to control costs
• Resolve material discrepancies, shortages, and quality issues
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory controls
• Collaborate with estimating, project management, and production teams

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of purchasing experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking
• Strong knowledge of wood species, sheet goods, hardware, veneers, and finishes
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications
• Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
• Proficiency with purchasing systems, spreadsheets, and ERP software
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a custom or high-end architectural millwork environment
• Familiarity with LEED or FSC-certified materials
• Background in construction, woodworking, or manufacturing
