Position Summary:The Assistant Football Coach will assist the head coach in organization, planning and directing all aspects of our Division I football program. The assistant coach will primarily instruct, train and coach the quarterbacks skills required along with possible coordinating responsibilities (dependent upon experience). This coach will instruct student-athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements, along with safety and health considerations; will recruit quality student-athletes for the program, will assist with program leadership duties, including directing the coaching staff on the quarterbacks, team composition, competition strategies and peak performance; will engage in team operations, including travel and video analysis of play execution and game strategy; and will perform additional duties related to coaching (e.g., compliance education, budget management, student housing, alumni relations, recruiting, student athlete academic development and other duties as assigned by head coach). UD Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the Atlantic 10 Conference and the Pioneer Football League. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate expertise in all aspects of coaching student-athletes and a commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship and academics. This coach will be proficient with DVSport Video Software or similar programs and will be competent with the use of social media for recruiting and program promotion purposes.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience playing or coaching the quarterback position at the collegiate or professional level
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Able to successfully demonstrate examples of developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Valid drivers license with low risk driving record and be able to be insured by the university
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
- Successful experience with collegiate football recruiting
- Track record of successfully coaching quarterbacks at the collegiate level.
- Experienced in working collegiate sports camps
- Possess a track record of successfully demonstrating problem solving skills and the ability to think and adjust to a situation at a moment’s notice.
- Demonstrate a clear knowledge of various offensive schemes, game planning expertise
