Job Summary:
-
Provides leadership and guidance in critical areas of technology and service administration including budgeting; resource development and allocation; policy formation; technology evaluation; and service development, delivery, and deployment.

Provides leadership, direction, and support to all work teams within the Information Services (IS) Department. This includes coaching and advising team leaders on a variety of topics and/or issues such as problem resolution, workflow design and implementation, performance appraisals and job descriptions, corrective action implementation, and serving as a resource regarding policy interpretation.

Education:
-
Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree in Informatics, Information Technology (IT), Clinical Practice, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field is preferred.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
-
Licensed or certified health care provider, or registered nurse, or medical board certification in Clinical Informatics (CI), or Informatics Nursing Board Certification (RN-BC), or Certificate in Nursing Informatics (NI), or Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), or other related certification.

Experience:
-
Position requires 7-10 years IT-related management experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting. Previous experience implementing new hospital information systems a plus.

Other Requirements:
-
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

Ability to build and maintain internal and external business relationships to effectively operate and oversee department functions and projects.
-
Ability to provide a leadership role in developing, maintaining, and delivering technology services.
-
Experienced with computer system integration in healthcare and skilled in project controls and workflow design and implementation.

Ability to collaborate in the design of strategic IS and IT department goals and objectives that are aligned with the organization's overall mission, vision and defined strategic goals.

Ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze data and information for planning, designing, forecasting, budgeting and comparing programs, and financial data.

Ability to compose professional correspondence to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners.
-
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and to resolve conflicts and offer solutions in a professional, positive manner.

Ability to work in a multi-functional environment and to prioritize project implementation and workflow.

Ability to work a flexible schedule -- performance of major technical and administrative duties will usually be accomplished during a Monday-Friday day shift; however, there is a requirement to occasionally work other shifts, holidays, and weekends to fulfill responsibilities and maintain support for CHS's information and telecommunications systems.
