At The Shaw Group, we are shaping the future of industrial pipe fabrication with a people first, execution focused approach. As QA/QC Director for US Pipe Fabrication in Walker, Louisiana and El Dorado AR you will lead quality strategy and day to day execution for a critical fabrication operation. This newly created leadership role plays a direct role in protecting client trust, maintaining production flow, and positioning the Walker facility for sustained growth. You will bring a fresh perspective, challenge legacy practices, and elevate quality performance across the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Streamlining Quality as a Production accelerator through first time quality execution.
  • Lead client facing QA/QC engagement and upfront quality planning.
  • Set quality standards, specifications, and expectations across projects.
  • Partner closely with production, materials, paint, and project management teams.
  • Identify and remove quality related bottlenecks.
  • Drive problem resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Build a disciplined, accountable, and scalable QA/QC organization.


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead the Walker QA/QC department and overall quality management system.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, ISO 9001 standards, and applicable codes; ASME Section IX for welding, ASME B31.3 for process piping and other applicable standards.
  • Oversee audits, inspections, and certifications with confidence and consistency.
  • Manage staffing levels and resources to align with workload and production demand.
  • Develop QA/QC leaders and succession readiness
  • Cross-Functional collaboration with estimating, production, engineering, procurement and project management teams to integrate quality requirements into the fabrication processes.
  • Provide reporting and insights to executive leadership.


What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field); advanced degree or certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, CWI - Certified Welding Inspector, ASNT NDT Level II or III (VT/MT/PT/UT/RT) preferred.
  • 10+ years of QA/QC experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of QA/QC leadership experience.
  • Strong background in pipe fabrication or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Deep understanding of quality systems, audits, and certifications.
  • Ability to execute leadership vision through disciplined operations.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to balance cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills.
