This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of cloud-based products through advanced test automation. You will work closely with development and cloud engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain automated test suites, primarily for APIs and backend services, with some exposure to UI and performance testing. The position requires deep Python and PyTest expertise, strong AWS experience, and a collaborative mindset to translate complex requirements into robust, automated tests. This role offers a dynamic environment where innovation, technical excellence, and attention to detail directly impact product quality and customer satisfaction. You will have the opportunity to influence testing frameworks, tools, and practices across the organization while supporting real-world cloud applications at scale.
Accountabilities:- Enhance and maintain cloud API automation frameworks to support reliable, scalable testing.
- Build, maintain, and expand automated test suites using Python and PyTest for APIs and backend services.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to analyze requirements, identify edge cases, and design comprehensive test coverage.
- Set up and manage test environments for cloud applications, including AWS workflows (S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS).
- Execute and analyze functional, regression, and smoke tests through CI/CD pipelines.
- Produce clear, concise bug reports, test documentation, and results summaries.
- Contribute to coding standards and quality assurance practices across the testing team.
Requirements:
- 35+ years of experience as a Cloud Test Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong Python development skills and deep familiarity with PyTest, including fixtures, parameterization, and decorators.
- Hands-on experience testing cloud-based microservices and APIs.
- Solid AWS experience (S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
- Knowledge of REST/gRPC, JSON/Protobuf, and API authentication mechanisms.
- Strong analytical skills and creativity to design robust automated tests from evolving requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, including test documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- Bonus: Experience with performance/load testing (k6, JMeter, Locust), Kafka or other messaging systems, Linux application testing, and security concepts.
