Divisional Engineering & Capital Manager at G-3 Chickadee Purchaser LLC – Houston, Texas
About This Position
G‑3 Chickadee—formerly part of Goodyear Chemical—is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.
We are seeking a Sr. Project Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, to lead small to medium projects independently and supporting a team or Engineering manager on large projects that is capable of operating with minimal supervision from direct manager.
What You’ll Do
- Accountable to execute and oversee engineering and technical objectives of assigned projects within their defined responsibility in line with project assumptions, timing, and budget.
- Communicate regularly to direct manager to provide ongoing feedback and keep the project tasks aligned with the changing needs of the business.
- Manage or support individual projects with project management discipline and attention to all key areas including but not limited to stakeholder, scope, cost, and time management.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and improve the quality of the project deliverables as well as with Reliability and on-going processes associated with the project.
- Ensure safety is priority in all aspects of the role.
- Work directly with wide variety of disciplines (EHS professional, Business team leader, Production/Technology engineer, and/or maintenance team) to develop thorough scope of work.
- Work with procurement to support process for acquiring multiple bids to ensure cost effective project cost assembly.
- Work with multi-discipline team & selected contractor to develop and execute well planned schedules to achieve project success.
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 5+ years of experience working with multidisciplinary Engineering and Maintenance associates to achieve cost effective goals.
Preferred
- Experience working in a Chemical Plant desired
