About This Position
JOB TITLE: Certified Pool Operator
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
PAY RATE: $22.25/hr - $27.00/hr
JOB SUMMARY: Maintains the safe operation of the aquatic attractions within the guidelines set by the Colorado State Health Department.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Periodic tests of the pool water to recognize any necessary adjustments in water chemistry.
Maintain the filtration/circulation systems
Maintain the general pool area
Ensure manufacturer specifications and state regulations are complied with and documented.
Keep accurate logs and inventory of supplies and chemicals
Maintain the highest standards of safety possible while providing a safe, fun and clean environment
Keep all work areas clean, safe and professional.
Operate within the policies and procedures of Elitch Gardens.
Perform any other duties as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer a CPO license.
Must be able to read, understand and implement maintenance and inspection procedures.
In this position you must possess oral and written English skills and must be able to communicate with guests and other employees effectively.
Must be at least 18 years old
You will be working around heavy dust, water, and walking on uneven surfaces. Due to dust, dirt, fumes and noise, some work requires respirators and safety clothing.
Required to work in various weather conditions.
Available to work overtime.
Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a co-worker.
Ability to distinguish color.
Possess 20/20 corrected vision. (Corrective lens, if required, must be worn while on duty).
Specific vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500HZ-4000HZ considered normal speech frequency range). (If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty)
