Assistant Estimator at SST Direct – Gaithersburg, Maryland

We are seeking an Assistant Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Gaithersburg MD with a design-assist specialty contractor

• Pay Range: $65k -$85k (depending on experience or let us know what you need)

Responsibilities for Assistant Estimator:

• Assists in preparing accurate material take-offs.
• Organizes specifications per job scope for estimate.
• Prepares substitution requests for value engineering purposes.
• Assists in the preparation of project cost, estimates, and bid for new projects.
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

Qualifications for Assistant Estimator:

• 2 plus years of construction estimating experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or engineering preferred
• Experience in business development, is a plus but not required
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field.
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on experience and personal judgment.
• Have excellent communication and organization skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and Bluebeam is a plus.
