About This Position
Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletics department as an Assistant Cheerleading Coach. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Cheerleading Coach to support the development of our cheerleading squad, promote school spirit, and foster a positive team environment. Must be able to obtain all necessary background checks, including FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse History Clearance, and a physical examination.
Key Responsibilities:
Supportive Role:
-Assist the Head Cheerleading Coach in all aspects of planning and organizing cheerleading practices, performances, and events.
-Collaborate with the Head Coach to develop routines, cheers, and choreography.
Skill Development:
-Work with cheerleaders to improve their skills in stunts, jumps, tumbling, and dance.
-Provide individualized coaching and feedback to help cheerleaders enhance their performance.
Team Spirit and Sportsmanship:
-Foster a positive team culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
-Encourage cheerleaders to demonstrate school spirit and support for other athletic teams.
Performance Preparation:
-Assist in preparing cheerleaders for performances, pep rallies, and competitions.
-Ensure that cheerleaders are adequately prepared and organized for upcoming events.
Safety and Risk Management:
-Ensure the safety of cheerleaders during practices and performances by implementing proper techniques and spotting procedures.
-Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols established by the school and governing cheerleading organizations.
Communication:
-Communicate effectively with cheerleaders, parents, school staff, and the athletics department.
-Provide regular updates on practice schedules, events, and other pertinent information.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience as a cheerleader or cheerleading coach is preferred.
-Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunts, and choreography.
-Strong organizational and leadership skills.
-Positive attitude and commitment to the development of student-athletes.
