About This Position
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Human Resources Coordinator works closely with the finance and operations departments and provides support to employees regarding all aspects of human resources including, but not limited to: recruitment, on-boarding, retention, performance management, special projects, and overall administrative support for the human resources function. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for handling sensitive information; therefore confidentiality, tactfulness, and discretion are a must.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
Demonstrate a commitment to the inclusive mission and welcoming values of the Frazer Center, and assist in collaborating as a team with various departments
Recruitment and Retention
Assist with employee recruitment efforts
Post jobs, organize resumes and job applications
Assist with applicant screening and interview processes
Facilitate new hire orientation/on-boarding
Prepare new employee files, ensuring compliance with all organization, state and federal regulations and policies
Assist with efforts to encourage employee engagement, employee retention and reduce employee turnover
Benefits and Payroll
Serve as a point of contact for benefit related questions
Assist with payroll as needed
Adhering to best practice policies, and ensuring accuracy
Assist with worker’s compensation, accident reporting, return- to work, disability reporting and related matters.
Maintain current HR files, databases and agency policies/procedures
Update and maintain employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
Maintain personnel files, job descriptions, perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
Complete termination paperwork and assist with exit interviews
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to look at a computer screen for an extended period of time
Ability to keyboard proficiently
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Director of Human Resources. Assists and works in conjunction with the Frazer Center leadership team. Maintains respectful, supportive, professional relationships with all Frazer Center staff.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma is required
Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred or related field
A minimum of 5 years progressive human resources experience required
High degree of emotional intelligence
Strong communication skills
Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, payroll processing systems (Paycom, Paylocity, ADP) preferred, and benefit management portal
