About This Position

Job Summary:

Peckham’s paid Internship Program is designed to add practical, relevant experience to your field of study while welcoming you into our family by choice culture. As a Procurement Data Analysis Intern, you will assist and support our Procurement and Equipment teams with essential projects, while gaining invaluable experience for your future career. Key projects and tasks include but are not limited to:

Energy Data Analysis: Analyze and present energy data (natural gas, electricity, diesel fuel, etc.), including cost per ton, usage levels versus purchase levels, and evaluation of demand response payments compared to downtime costs.

Equipment Usage Analysis: Collect and analyze emissions, runtime, and idle-time data, presenting insights in a format usable by equipment and plant managers.

Fuel Usage & Spend Analysis: Track and report fuel usage and spending by equipment number and employee.

Trucking Cost Analysis: Analyze trucking-related costs by DOT number, entity, or state (e.g., registrations, permits, HUT, IFTA), including annual cost per on-road asset, accounting for state-level variances.

Vendor Spend Analysis: Identify and analyze top vendors by line of business (LOB) and total spend.

Comdata Card Analysis: Review and analyze Comdata credit card usage by category and employee to identify trends and opportunities.

Majors applicable to this internship opportunity include IT/Business Administration disciplines as well as other relevant majors.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. Excellent Attendance and Punctuality.

2. You are responsible for your own housing and reliable transportation.

3. Strict adherence to all safety protocol, OSHA safety rules and regulation required.

4. Current enrollment at an accredited college or university with a 3.0 or higher GPA

5. Successful submission of our online application by Monday, May 11, 2026, and:

• A cover letter or paragraph stating your major and what intrigues you about it.

• A resume including your LinkedIn profile, if you have one.

• One written recommendation (e-mail ok) from a current or previous employer, teacher, or professor

6. Proficient written and verbal English communication skills

7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

10. Legal right to work in the U. S.

Please note: The program is scheduled to run for ten weeks, Monday, June 1, 2026, through Friday, August 7, 2026, but can be flexible to the student’s needs.

Travel:

Position may require up to 20% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Work environment is dependent upon internship placement and may operate in a professional office or physical work environment. The professional work environment is mostly sedentary, outside of travel.

Some internships may involve heavy work that includes heavy lifting, working near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
