What We’re Looking For
Terence Crutcher Foundation seeks a Field Organizer to build grassroots relationships in impacted communities across Oklahoma. This role will support the implementation of TCF’s statewide organizing expansion strategy and is responsible for deep community engagement in Tulsa and beyond.
The Field Organizer will work closely with the Executive Director and Organizing Team to execute campaign strategy and strengthen organizing infrastructure in multiple regions of the state. The ideal candidate is someone who loves building new relationships, traveling to new communities, and moving people to action on important issues.
This role will reach targeted outreach goals through phone banking, individual meetings, community meetings, and door-to-door canvassing across various Oklahoma communities.
This position is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and requires regular travel across the state (approximately 40–60%), including occasional evenings and weekends. The Field Organizer will work in-office at TCF headquarters when not traveling.

Key Responsibilities
- Support execution of TCF’s statewide organizing expansion plan
- Build and sustain grassroots relationships in communities impacted by the criminal legal system across Oklahoma
- Travel regularly to targeted regions to conduct outreach, recruit volunteers, and identify community leaders
- Reach engagement milestones through individual meetings, community meetings, phone banks, door-to-door canvassing, and regional outreach efforts
- Plan and manage in-person and virtual events in multiple Oklahoma communities
- Facilitate trainings and prepare materials for outreach across assigned regions
- Track and report outreach metrics across all territories
- Provide weekly reports of engagement and recruitment data
- Support rapid response efforts as community crises arise in different regions of the state
- Work with staff to elevate local concerns into coordinated statewide advocacy and policy priorities

- You understand the challenges within the criminal legal system, especially with regard to policing, and the disparate impacts it has on communities of color.
- Your skills lie in connecting with people and identifying potential leaders.
- You possess the emotional maturity to handle complex power dynamics, to manage relationships with multiple varied stakeholder groups, and to keep a level head in delicate and charged environments.
- You know how to treat people respectfully in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them.
- You are smart and humble — you see routine tasks like stuffing envelopes or cleaning up after community meetings as critical rather than menial, and you’re the first to jump in when work needs to get done.
- You are, or can quickly become, familiar with the Oklahoma landscape.
- You can manage multiple tasks and projects at once.

Education/Experience/Compensation
- At least 1 year of related experience in community organizing is required.
- Relationships with individuals and/or organizations working on criminal justice reform, abolition, police accountability, or racial justice preferred.
- Individuals with criminal legal system involvement are encouraged to apply.
- Starting salary $52,000-$60,000 or commensurate with experience.
