Transit Dispatcher at Access, Incorporated – Hampton, Iowa

Access, Incorporated and Region 2 Transit are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Transit Dispatcher to help ensure safe, timely and efficient transportation services for Franklin County. The dispatcher plays a major role in the day to day operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and multitasking skills, the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, high attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping, and enjoy working in a service-orientated environment. Essential Job Functions:

• Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with passengers, Transit Drivers, staff and other stakeholders regarding rides, schedules, and passenger concerns
• Develop and coordinate schedules and necessary information with Transit Supervisor
• Communicate operational concerns involving vehicles, safety, customers, or service interruptions to the Transit Supervisor and appropriate personnel.
• Accurately complete required paperwork and records as directed by the Transit Supervisor, NIACOG and/or Access, Inc
• Implement and support decisions made by the Transit Supervisor regarding drivers, scheduling adjustments, cancellations and delays
• Maintain strict confidentiality of passenger and staff information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

At minimum you must have the following:

• Must be 18 years old
• Valid Iowa Driver's License
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with computers, software programs and related technology
• Must be able to pass background check

Preferred but not required:

• Customer service and/or telephone experience
• Experience working with individuals of all ages, diverse backgrounds and disabilities preferred

Monday - Friday

Typically 8am - 5pm
