Logistics Team Lead at JOST Agriculture Inc – Greenville, South Carolina

BASIC JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading a group of employees to accomplish the logistics team’s goals and objectives. The Team Lead will organize the workload for the area, assigning each employee’s task for the shift, and ensuring the area’s standards for safety, productivity, housekeeping, and quality are being met on a daily basis. Assist Manager(s) and Supervisor(s) with a variety of tasks related to plant operations which would include the same standards as logistics.

MAIN JOB DUTIES:

• Provides leadership for the effective execution of the duties and responsibilities that pertain to the Logistics team.
• Lead initiatives to meet company objectives for all Logistics functions.
• Understand all safety polices, model exemplary safety behavior and aid in enforcing safety policies to employees.
• Understand and efficiently operate JOST Agriculture Warehouse Management Systems in relation to receiving, shipping, inventory, etc.
• Lead as an example to direct reports. This includes being responsible for helping to cultivate a positive work environment and overall employee morale.
• Operate a powered industrial truck to pick up, move, place, and position material including the unloading and loading of trailers.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must meet and maintain company requirements in lean manufacturing and housekeeping practices.
• Must follow the companies directive in Quality Management System (QMS)
• Must follow the ISO 9001 work practices & procedures.
• Understand and be responsible for the process of opening and closing the facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalency (GED)
• Previous leadership experience in industrial environment preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Must have leadership skills or in a previous leadership role.
• Must have computer proficiency; to include Microsoft programs, have MRP system experience with the ability to learn JOST Agriculture Warehouse Management Systems.
• This position requires excellent judgment skills in regards to carrying out procedures and following established manufacturing/logistics methods.
• Must have previous experience with powered industrial trucks in a manufacturing/logistics environment.
• Must be able to effectively create and communicate work instructions to all team members to meet safety, efficiency and quality production goals.
• Must have excellent leadership, communication and delegation skills.
• Must make decisions with regard to quality of product.
• Willing to become a certified Train the Trainer for powered industrial trucks.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Primarily works in non-climate controlled warehouse, outdoors, and occasionally in climate controlled office.

Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends
