About This Position

The Materials Analyst is responsible for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support on time production and project execution. This position is responsible for developing backward project schedules to ensure materials and production timelines meet customer commitments, analyze build cycle times, and monitor inventory and quality performance. The analyst owns the integrity of materials data within Epicor ERP and leverages advanced Excel skills to build tools, reports, and insights that improve planning accuracy, inventory turns, and schedule adherence.

Planning & Scheduling
• Plan operations based on customer promise/ship dates to determine required materials, routings, and capacity.
• Analyze and maintain build cycle times, identify bottlenecks, and recommend takt/throughput improvements.
• Create and maintain MRP parameters (lead time, lot size, safety stock, min/max) aligned with demand and service-level targets.
• Partner with Production, Procurement, and Project Management to synchronize project milestones and mitigate risks to schedule.

Data & Systems (Epicor)
• Maintain Epicor database integrity: item masters, BOMs, routings, part revisions, UoM conversions, planning and costing fields.
• Monitor and resolve MRP exceptions (shortages, past due, expedite/cancel, reschedule messages).
• Develop and automate Epicor dashboards/BAQs and operational reports for visibility into short-term and long-range materials positions.
• Perform periodic master data audits and corrective updates

Inventory Control
• Own materials availability while driving inventory accuracy and inventory turn improvements.
• Reconcile root-cause systemic accuracy issues (receiving, backflushing, returns, scrap).
• Optimize stocking strategies (Kanban, reorder points, min/max) based on variability, and lead times
• Support dispositioning of excess/obsolete (E&O) inventory and implement prevention controls.

Quality & Compliance
• Collaborate with Operations on incoming inspection standards, supplier nonconformance, and corrective actions (8D/5-Why).
• Ensure traceability and document control of materials and revisions throughout the lifecycle.
• Support internal/external audits with accurate material records and evidence.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement
• Build advanced Excel models and dashboards (Power Query, PivotTables, complex formulas, data validation, macros) for demand/supply analysis, scenario modeling, and risk assessments.
• Measure and report KPIs (schedule adherence, on-time delivery, cycle time, inventory turns, accuracy, E&O).
• Lead Kaizen projects targeting lead-time reduction, throughput improvement, and data quality.

Competencies
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 3–5+ years in materials planning/analysis, production control, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel: PivotTables, nested/array formulas, XLOOKUP/INDEX

MATCH, Power Query (Get & Transform)
• Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP (materials, MRP, BOM/routings, job management, inventory).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data quality.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to influence without authority.

Preferred
• Experience with Epicor BAQs/dashboards
• Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, and root cause tools (8D/5-Why).

Supervisory Responsibility
• This position may supervise a temporarily assigned team but will not be responsible for time keeping with regards to payroll.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to varying temperatures. The environment is an active plant with continuous noises from equipment inside the plant. On-site in production/manufacturing environment with periodic shop-floor time. Occasional overtime for quarter-end, large launches, or critical project milestones.

Physical Demands
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) safely.
• Adherence to PPE requirements

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
(Subject to change based on business demands)

No travel is expected for this position.
