$70,000 - $85,000 a year

With a strong emphasis on safety, precision, and communication, our client partners with general contractors, developers, and property owners to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and built to the highest standards.
Our client is seeking a detailoriented Construction Project Accountant to support financial management and operational accounting for ongoing commercial electrical construction projects. This role will play a key part in ensuring financial integrity, project cost control, billing accuracy, and timely reporting to support leadership and project teams.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fastpaced environment, has construction or contracting experience, and is committed to accuracy, accountability, and proactive problemsolving.
Responsibilities- Project Accounting & Financial Management
- -Maintain accurate financial records for construction and service projects
- -Monitor project budgets, costs, and revenue performance
- -Prepare job cost reports and analyze variances
- -Assist with preparing project forecasts and cashflow analysis
- Billing & Invoicing
- -Prepare and issue accurate project progress billings
- -Reconcile billing with project contracts and change orders
- -Follow up on accounts receivable to support timely collections
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Coordination
- -Review and process vendor invoices for project expenses
- -Coordinate with project managers to verify labor, equipment, and material charges
- -Manage subcontractor pay applications and support lien waiver tracking
- Reporting & Compliance
- -Produce internal financial reports for leadership and project teams
- -Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and relevant regulations
- -Assist with yearend close and audit preparation
- CrossFunctional Collaboration
- -Work closely with project managers, operations, and field teams to ensure financial alignment
- -Provide timely responses to accounting inquiries from internal stakeholders
- 2+ years of accounting or project accounting experience (construction industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of job cost accounting and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with construction accounting systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, Procore) - Preferred
- Background supporting commercial construction or contracting firms - Preferred
- Knowledge of AIA billing practices and retainage reporting - Preferred
$70,000 - $85,000 a year
