This is a first shift position, working 10-15 hours per week, Monday - Friday, in Sycamore, Illinois.

Essential Job Functions


The Tool Crib Support Technician is responsible for supporting maintenance operations through accurate inventory control, receiving, stocking, and organization of tool crib materials using the EMAINT system. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper labeling, timely replenishment, and a clean, organized tool crib environment that supports operational efficiency and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Generate stock cart requisitions within the EMAINT system to support maintenance requirements.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts based on requisitions and operational needs.
  • Update, validate, and maintain accurate EMAINT on‑hand quantities following cycle counts.
  • Update EMAINT inventory records and stock locations, including creation and placement of inventory labels.
  • Provide lists of item numbers and inventory details to Purchasing for quotation and replenishment purposes.
  • Receive incoming inventory and verify shipments by checking packing slips against parts received.
  • Accurately receive inventory transactions in the EMAINT system.
  • Label parts and complete proper put‑away to assigned inventory locations.
  • Provide confirmed and validated packing slips to the Receiving Dock to complete the receiving process.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records to support maintenance, purchasing, and financial controls.
  • Actively engage in responsibilities and initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Comply with and contribute to continuous improvement of company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team‑oriented workplace, which may include other duties as assigned.
  • Organize and maintain the Tool Crib and satellite cabinets as time permits.
  • Identify unlabeled parts and locations and apply EMAINT‑generated labels.
  • Update EMAINT system locations as needed to reflect physical inventory changes.
  • Add new parts to the EMAINT system.
  • Support 6S initiatives in the Tool Crib and satellite cabinets, including:
  • Actively engage in responsibilities and initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Comply with and contribute to the continuous improvement of company policies, processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented workplace, which may include other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of inventory control and receiving processes.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably EMAINT.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to read and interpret packing slips, part numbers, and inventory documentation.
  • Organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas and inventory locations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with Maintenance, Purchasing, and Receiving.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and 6S principles.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, tool crib, warehouse, or maintenance support preferred.
  • CMMS or EMAINT experience preferred.
  • A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.

Working Conditions

The physical demands below are required to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Effectively perform work in an office/manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Remain in a stationary position and move about the work area as required.
  • Frequently operate office machines, such as computer.
  • Positions self to move items at various heights, such as floor, countertop, shelves.
  • Effectively communicate and exchange accurate information so that others will understand.
  • Observe details at close range, such as documents, computer screens, tools, products.
  • Move boxes/supplies/equipment, weighing up to established safety limits on occasion.
  • Wear the required personal protective equipment as applicable.
  • Working hours are generally daytime shift hours.

Compensation Disclosure:

The rate of pay for this position is $20.00 - 24.26/hour. This represents a good faith disclosure of compensation, which is the fixed starting rate for this position.
