Position Overview:

The Referral Specialist at Author Health manages the intake, verification, and coordination of physician referrals to ensure accurate and timely patient onboarding. This role is responsible for processing referrals received across multiple channels, validating patient and insurance information, and facilitating efficient handoff to downstream teams.

Role Classification: Non-technical

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure complete and accurate patient set-up for newly referred patients, including the collection of patient demographics, clinical background, across various modalities that referrals get sent to Author Health (e.g., fax, email, Leading Reach, website, Direct Messages in Elation).
• Perform comprehensive verification of current insurance information, specifically navigating Medicare Advantage plan requirements to ensure coverage accuracy.
• Identify and confirm referral sources and trigger corresponding outreach workflows, ensuring that referrals are addressed in a timely manner.
• Serve as referral coordination subject matter expert for internal and third-party stakeholders: handle requests to provide relevant information and data, confirm when patient information / registration is complete, and share key updates with referring sources.
• Work with partners (e.g., community-based organizations, PCP clinics, etc.) to refine engagement approaches and strategies as required (i.e., for patients with missing/incorrect contact information)
• Review details and expectation of referral with potential patients as required

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of any Healthcare Allied degree
• At least 1 year of experience in U.S. healthcare
• Proficiency with technology platforms and EMRs required
• Must be willing to work in Makati or Pasig Office
• Amenable to work Monday to Friday on US business hours
• Willing to work full-time onsite.
