Description:

Job Summary:

The Conditional Report (CR) Writer is responsible for reviewing vehicle inspection data and images to produce accurate, detailed condition reports that support vehicle sales, arbitration, leasing, and valuation processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, efficient report turnaround, and the ability to work collaboratively with inspection and auction staff in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Provide efficient and courteous service to all customers at all times.
  2. Always exhibit ‘hands on’ and direct approach with customers.
  3. Complete any course required by auction for inspector position.
  4. Inspect units cosmetically and mechanically. Ensure all vehicle Condition Reports are in compliance with each client’s requirements.
  5. Stock unit into the system complete with trim codes.
  6. Ensure each vehicle’s mileage, options, damages, pictures and mechanical status are accurately reported.
  7. Check units for Frame and Flood damage
  8. Photograph all the units to attach to condition report.
  9. Clear all information stored on vehicle’s phone and navigation system.
  10. Make sure auction tag is attached to the unit being inspected on 5 mile test drive.
  11. Ensure all tablets are synced, properly charged and handled with care.
  12. Complete 20 to 30 condition reports daily with the exception of sale day.
  13. Work as PSI or Arbitration inspector on sale day.
  14. Work well independently as well as a team player.
  15. Timely communication of issues that may be deemed as detrimental to the success of operations to Management.
  16. Performs other duties as necessary.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written communication skills, including grammar, clarity, and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to accurately interpret inspection data, photographs, and vehicle condition checklists.
  • Comfortable working with on computers including use of reporting software, digital platforms, and inspection systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
  • Mechanical background a plus
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience writing vehicle condition reports preferred; automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the duration of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
  • Work is performed in an auction environment and may involve exposure to temperature changes, all types of weather conditions, and outdoor settings.
