Job overview:
- Repair company tractors and trailers as a Lead Diesel Technician in Fairburn, GA.
- Act as the decision-maker during shifts when there is no manager on duty.
Responsibilities:
- Perform annual vehicle inspections, routine preventative maintenance and replacement and repair services.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems related to all truck systems, including engine, drive train, cab, brakes, suspension, electrical and communication systems.
- Assist the leadership team in developing associates' skills, leading team meetings and enforcing Schneider's established parts processes.
- Encourage a safe work environment for all associates and visitors.
Skills and qualifications:
- Technical degree in diesel technology or related field, or a minimum of 4 years of diesel technician experience.
- Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
- Able to manage and prioritize work to meet equipment needs.
- Able to work independently with little supervision.
- Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
