Job Description:
Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives - Dow Jones Energy

Organization: Dow Jones

Location: New York, Houston, London, Washington D.C.

Reports to: Head of Strategy & Operations for Dow Jones Energy
Role Overview

Following the strategic acquisitions of A2i Systems (AI-powered fuel pricing) and Eco-Movement (EV charging data), the Dow Jones Energy footprint now spans the energy spectrum-from traditional refined fuels and NGLs to the cutting edge of electric mobility and AI-driven analytics.

As the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, Dow Jones Energy, you will be a primary architect of our unified future. Your role is twofold:
  • Operational Integration: Help bring recently acquired businesses into the Dow Jones Energy ecosystem, ensuring data, technology, talent & processes are harmonized, and revenue synergies are fully realized.
  • Strategic Unification: Lead the mission-critical project to transition our legacy brands into a single, cohesive "Dow Jones Energy" global brand.

You will act as the "glue" between our newly acquired specialized assets and the broader Dow Jones Energy organization, while also leading the integration strategy for all future M&A in the energy and sustainability space.
Key Responsibilities
1. High-Stakes Integration Management
  • The acquisition of A2i strengthened the Dow Jones Energy suite of offerings for retail fuel customers around the world. The acquisition of Eco-Movement and its world-leading EV charging station database further accelerated the opportunity to be a leader in global mobility pricing, data and analytics. This role will be responsible to helping to bring the technology & talent of both teams into the Dow Jones Energy value stack. It will also work with the leaders of both businesses to identify & execute cross-sell and upsell potential, new product development and other initiatives to help support revenue synergies, and set up a value capture framework to ensure we're tracking the right KPIs.

2. Brand Transformation: "One Dow Jones Energy"
  • Brand Migration: Lead the project to sunset or transition legacy brands into the unified Dow Jones Energy identity in close collaboration with Marketing. This includes overseeing the projects that will range from enhanced go-to-market strategy and digital platform consolidation, to fundamental business identity rebranding (websites, email addresses, invoicing, etc)
3. M&A Pipeline & Execution
  • Playbook Development: Create and maintain a standardized "Dow Jones Energy Integration Playbook" to ensure speed and consistency for future acquisitions.
  • Due Diligence: Partner with the Corporate Development team to assess the "integration risk" and "synergy potential" of new targets.
  • Value Capture: Track and report on post-acquisition KPIs, ensuring that the strategic rationale for every deal is realized within the first 12-18 months.
4. Stakeholder & Operational Leadership
  • Matrix Management: Navigate a complex organizational structure, influencing senior leaders across Editorial, Product, Sales, and Technology.
Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications:
  • 15+ Years Experience: Proven track record in project management required, and experience with M&A integration preferred.
  • Global Mindset: Ability to lead across time zones and cultures, specifically bridging the gap between European tech startups and a global corporate headquarters.
  • Execution Rigor: A project-first mindset that uses data to track every milestone of the integration process.
