About This Position
The Health Services Supervisor will lead and manage the nursing team at Verland CLA. They will ensure effective communication, oversee health services for CLA individuals, and ensure compliance with medication administration, documentation, and treatment management. This role is critical for maintaining high standards of individual care and operational efficiency.
Contributions
Caseload Management
- Maintains a caseload of CLA homes and individuals, ensuring compliance with healthcare appointments, medication management, treatments and all things healthcare relates
Staff Management and Supervision
- Supervise and support CLA nursing staff, ensuring that the team provides optimal support to individuals.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to nursing staff and CLA team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Educate and train new procedures or treatments related to the healthcare of CLA individuals
Medication Administration Compliance
- Review proper administration of medications on caseload according to established protocols, ensuring individual safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee nursing staff to ensure all medications are reviewed, and documentation is completed accurately. Provide guidance where appropriate.
- Conduct random audits of medication administration records (MAR) to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
Documentation Compliance
- Supervise the documentation process to ensure all individual care activities, assessments, and interventions are properly documented in accordance with healthcare regulations and agency policies.
- Review and ensure that all nursing documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and vital signs, is complete, accurate, and timely.
Treatment Management
- Oversee and manage treatment plans for individuals, ensuring they are properly administered and documented.
- Provide guidance to nursing staff on treatments and best practices
- Conduct regular checks of wound care documentation to ensure proper procedures are being followed.
Individual Care Quality and Safety
- Ensure the highest quality of care is provided, adhering to agency protocols, infection control standards, and clinical best practices.
- Address any individual care concerns or issues, ensuring they are resolved promptly and appropriately.
Communication and Reporting
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare providers, supervisors, and administration regarding patient status, staffing needs, and any urgent issues.
- Report any critical incidents, patient concerns, or staffing issues to appropriate management or administrative personnel.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to nursing practice, medication administration, and documentation preferred.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state nursing license.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a community based residential system, long-term care, hospital, or similar healthcare setting.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role in nursing is preferred.
