Accounts Receivable Coordinator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A.A.S. Degree in Accounting or related field (copy required upon initial hire date)
- Yearly Physical (required within 1 month of initial hire date)
- Valid NYS Drivers License (copy required upon initial hire date)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous insurance billing and accounting experience highly desirable
SALARY:
60,000-65,000 annual
HOURS:
- Monday - Friday
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Full time)

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:
This position is primarily responsible for the billing and collection of all rate-based services provided by The William George Agency and the George Junior Republic Union Free School District, as well as Medicaid per diem and fee for service billing. This includes billing of private insurance carriers for residents involved in our OASAS licensed outpatient drug and alcohol program. This position will also participate in office administration duties essential for day-to-day operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All aspects of billing for rate-based services provided by The William George Agency and the George Junior Republic Union Free School District. This will include maintenance of residential placement days of care records (attendance) as well as student school attendance records and thorough understanding of billing requirements and procedures. Includes posting of receipts and recognition and resolution of billing issues. This includes appropriate billing for Medicaid per diem based enrollment billing.
- All aspects of Medicaid and private insurance billing for individuals receiving Medicaid eligible “fee for service” services as well as individuals involved in our VanClef drug and alcohol treatment program. Interfacing with VanClef office manager is an essential requirement of this position. Includes posting of receipts and recognition and resolution of billing issues.
- Participation in coordination of receivables collection. This will include written correspondence and telephone contact to resolve outstanding receivables issues. Must be detail oriented and have solid note-taking skills.
- Ability to comprehensively learn billing software including general ledger based billing through Fund EZ general ledger software, Medicaid “e-paces” program and coordination with a third party billing service for current Medicaid/private insurance “fee for service” billing.
- Ability to comprehensively learn billing regulations for children placed in residential care to include OCFS, Medicaid and OASAS billing guidelines.
- Ability to develop Excel program spreadsheets for tracking and development of support documentation for general ledger records when necessary.
- Miscellaneous accounting/administrative duties: This position will involve day-to-day interaction with employees and administrative staff. When necessary the following will be required and is not limited to: writing correspondence, responding to information inquiries, file system maintenance.
- Adhere to all rules, regulations, policies and philosophy of The William George Agency and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
- Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate to promote the continued operation and direction of the Accounting Department as directed by the Chief Fiscal Officer and/or Executive Director.
