Country Club Controller

Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club

$120,000 - $140,000 Full Time

Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club is seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and detail-oriented Controller to lead the Club's financial operations. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability for our $20M private club operation.

The Controller serves as a trusted business partner to the General Manager and leadership team and plays a vital role in advancing the Club's strategic objectives.

Position Overview

The Controller provides leadership, management, and vision to ensure the Club maintains strong financial controls, accurate reporting systems, and effective administrative procedures. This role oversees all accounting functions while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

The successful candidate will bring both technical accounting expertise and strategic financial insight to help position the Club for continued stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end and year-end close.

• Prepare and present timely, accurate monthly financial statements.

• Develop KPIs to evaluate and improve operational efficiencies and financial results.

• Maintain internal controls to safeguard Club assets.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.

• Coordinate annual audit and tax filings.

Budgeting & Strategic Planning

• Lead annual budgeting process in collaboration with club management.

• Develop financial forecasts and cash flow projections.

• Provide financial analysis to support capital planning and long-term strategy.

• Partner with the General Manager on financial decision-making

Team Leadership & Administration

• Supervise accounting staff, Human Resources, and IT functions.

• Develop efficient systems, policies, and reporting procedures.

• Promote a collaborative, respectful, and service-oriented culture.

• Perform additional duties as requested by the General Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience (private club or hospitality experience preferred)

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices

• Experience overseeing payroll, HR administration, and technology systems.

• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
