The Program Coordinator will support the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), a membership-based community of “50 and better” adults who are passionate about learning, by managing program operations, providing hands-on instructor support, and planning trips and special events. The staff member will collaborate with the Director to develop enhancements to current programming and create new initiatives for future programming.
Manages academic program operations and assists with enrollment or other similar functions for assigned college, campus, or department. Coordinates training and development for faculty and advisers and provides academic advising to assigned students. Coordinates research within the department as well as recruitment activities.
Essential Functions
This position is the primary liaison between OLLI instructors and the program. Key duties include recruiting new instructors, evaluating course proposals, assisting with catalog creation, conducting instructor and auditor orientations, guiding instructors with setting up online learning environments (using Zoom and OneDrive), obtaining rooms for in-person classes, and troubleshooting and resolving concerns with online and in-person classes.
Other important functions include planning and executing special events, lectures, and trips. These may require securing on and off campus venues, finding and working with lecturers, scheduling catering and facilities, reserving transportation, and obtaining admission tickets. This role also includes direct member support with course registrations and participation in OLLI volunteer committee work. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Effort
Duties are primarily sedentary. Must be able to use a computer at a desk or similar workstation, and travel to on-campus meetings as needed.
