About This Position
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior CAD Designer in United States.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of detailed, multi-discipline engineering design packages supporting complex infrastructure and power-related projects. You will work within integrated project teams to produce accurate and constructible 2D drawings and 3D design models that meet strict client, regulatory, and company standards. Your work will directly support engineering execution by translating technical inputs into coordinated layouts covering civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Operating in a highly collaborative environment, you will interact closely with engineers and other designers to resolve design challenges and ensure consistency across disciplines. You will also play a key role in identifying clashes, improving design quality, and supporting field validation activities. This position is well-suited for an experienced CAD professional who thrives in technically complex, detail-driven environments.
- Develop detailed CAD design deliverables across multiple disciplines, including civil grading, structural layouts, mechanical equipment arrangements, piping systems, and electrical schematics.
- Use advanced design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Navisworks to create, revise, and coordinate 2D and 3D models and documentation.
- Interpret engineering inputs, vendor documentation, specifications, and field data to produce accurate and constructible design outputs.
- Identify design conflicts and coordination issues, supporting clash detection and resolution across multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct thorough self-checks to ensure compliance with project standards, accuracy of drawings, and completeness of deliverables.
- Support field activities such as site walkdowns and incorporate real-world conditions into updated design revisions.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and project teams to maintain alignment with project scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Associate’s degree in CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical experience, with 10+ years of progressive CAD design experience.
- Strong proficiency in producing detailed design drawings for power, industrial, or infrastructure projects across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Advanced experience with CAD and design tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Navisworks.
- Ability to develop and manage 3D plant layout models and integrate multi-discipline design inputs effectively.
- Strong understanding of engineering and construction design principles, with the ability to visualize complex systems in 3D.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across engineering, design, and project management teams.
- Experience in power plant or large-scale infrastructure design environments is a strong plus.
- Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $36.00 to $55.00 per hour, with potential eligibility for annual discretionary bonuses
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
- 401(k) retirement savings plan and additional financial wellness programs
