About This Position

Manager of M&A Accounting (REMOTE)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Manager Accounting M&A. In this vital role, you will lead the accounting workstreams for various M&A activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and timely reporting. You will use your technical expertise to manage acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers while also mentoring an accounting team. Your project management skills will enable you to handle complex transactions and drive continuous improvement within the organization. This position is primarily remote with occasional office visits, providing a flexible work environment.
Accountabilities
  • Serve as the primary resource for business development and operations integration for entity transactions
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of M&A activity in line with GAAP
  • Lead and manage the M&A team, offering guidance and support
  • Enhance accounting processes for seamless integration and compliance
  • Communicate financial information effectively to various stakeholders
  • Handle multiple complex transactions across different timelines
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for entities
  • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Leadership departments
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience with at least 3 years in leadership and M&A roles
  • Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited institution
  • Active CPA license required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt to accounting software
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet and IBM Planning & Analytics is a plus
  • Ability to manage pressure and adapt to changing priorities
