Level: Salaried
Division / Department: Lumber & Building Materials
Reports to: LBM Strategic Business Development Manager
Travel: 50% (member stores, prospective members, Markets, and conferences as required)

About the Role:
The Millwork Specialist is responsible for growing millwork sales and program penetration across Do it Best members, with a strong emphasis on proactive dealer engagement in the millwork category (doors, windows, molding, and related products).

This role partners closely with key dealers, strategic vendor partners, and internal sales and purchasing teams to expand program adoption, convert billing to Do it Best-supported vendors, and transition dealers from competing programs.

The Millwork Specialist brings value by understanding dealer assortments, showroom strategies, and vendor usage, and by helping members optimize their millwork offerings through Do it Best programs.

Responsibilities include:
  • Drive division-wide millwork sales growth in partnership with Do it Best traders and specialists, while fully owning strategic dealer relationships and their sales results across doors, windows, hardware, and related millwork categories.
  • Travel regularly to member showrooms and yards to evaluate product assortments, vendor usage, merchandising, and sales opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to convert dealer billing to Do it Best-supported vendor programs.
  • Support efforts to transition dealers from competitive or unsupported programs to strategic Do it Best vendor partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to dealers by helping improve product mix, showroom strategy, and sell-through performance.
  • Work closely with strategic vendor partners to execute and expand existing programs and roll out promotions and incentives.
  • Serve as a liaison between dealers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful program execution.
  • In coordination with the LBM Strategic Business Development Manager, develop and execute annual business plans to achieve sales growth and market share goals.
  • Utilize market data, pricing intelligence, and competitive analysis to make strategic purchasing and program recommendations.
  • Stay current on millwork industry trends, product innovations, and competitive dynamics.
  • Make recommendations on additional strategic vendor programs that Do it Best should pursue.
  • Support members with product education, program implementation, estimating, pricing, and negotiation support.
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales, purchasing, lumber, and building materials teams.
  • Participate in travel to members, prospects, vendors, and industry events as required.
  • Complete special assignments and projects as directed by management.

Education and Experience:

Minimum
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Desired
  • Experience in the lumber and building materials (LBM) industry in a sales, dealer development, or customer-facing role.
  • Millwork manufacturing, sales, door shop, or showroom experience.
  • Demonstrated experience driving sales growth, dealer conversions, or program adoption.
  • Experience working with vendor programs and strategic partnerships.
