AI Strategist at Distro – Nairobi, Ucayali

Position: AI Strategist

Schedule: Full-time, 4:00 PM and 2:00 AM

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with company objectives.

Identify high-value AI opportunities across the organization.

Define, scope, and prioritize AI projects using frameworks such as ICE (Impact, Confidence, Ease).

Collaborate with product, finance, operations, and customer service teams to assess feasibility and value.

Translate complex AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, agentic workflows, and emerging technologies into business-friendly insights.

Support leadership and non-technical stakeholders in making informed decisions.

Lead prototypes and pilots through the end-to-end innovation funnel.

Guide deployment, scaling, and continuous improvement of AI initiatives.

Establish and maintain AI governance standards.

Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and ethical AI principles.

Define KPIs, ROI measurements, and adoption metrics for AI initiatives.

Provide ongoing data-driven insights to optimize performance and scaling.

Skills & Experience: Required:

3+ years of experience in AI/ML strategy, digital transformation, or related roles.

Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies including LLMs, generative AI, and agentic systems.

Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences.

Experience managing multiple AI initiatives simultaneously.

Strong working knowledge of data privacy regulations and AI ethics frameworks.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience with AI governance and responsible AI practices.

Background in insurance, finance, or business consulting.

Technical degree or certifications in AI/ML, data science, or related fields.

Familiarity with Azure AI, AWS, and GCP.

Experience with change management and organizational adoption strategies.
