About Us

MNL is a full-service ecological restoration company dedicated to Healing the Earth. Our services include native seed and plant production, shoreline and wetland restoration, prescribed burns, conservation grazing, vegetation management, and ecological consulting. We also support solar and infrastructure projects with pollinator-friendly practices and land stewardship expertise.

Our Vegetation Management team plays a key role in protecting and enhancing ecosystems. This role directly supports that mission through boots-on-the-ground restoration and land stewardship work.


The Opportunity

We’re hiring Seasonal Ecological Field Technicians to join our Vegetation Management team at our Glyndon, MN location. In this role, you’ll implement restoration-focused vegetation management techniques using tools, equipment, and herbicide applications to control invasive species and support native habitats.

This is a field-based position that involves physical, outdoor work in a variety of environments and conditions. You’ll collaborate closely with field crew leaders, site managers, and your peers to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality execution of project goals. It's a strong fit for individuals who enjoy practical, mission-driven work that contributes to real ecological outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Complete vegetation management duties using tools such as weed whips, backpack sprayers, chainsaws, and ATV/UTVs.
  • Conduct invasive species control through a mix of herbicide application, hand-pulling, cutting, and mechanical methods.
  • Perform brush control and site clearing in forested or overgrown areas.
  • Maintain accurate work records, including daily logs and herbicide treatment documentation.
  • Read and navigate field maps to execute project tasks precisely.
  • Support field crew leaders in ensuring high-quality project execution.
  • Work collaboratively and adapt to changing site needs and priorities.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

  • Relevant experience in vegetation management, landscaping, restoration, or outdoor fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with native and invasive plant identification.
  • Experience handling or applying herbicide preferred. A willingness to obtain a commercial pesticide applicator license is required.
  • Comfort with the safe use and basic maintenance of field tools and equipment.
  • Ability to follow directions, communicate clearly, and work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency with basic digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management platforms, ERP systems).
  • A positive & proactive attitude, paired with a strong emphasis on quality work and attention to detail.
  • Able to move and lift up to 50lbs.
  • A willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) and terrains.

The pay range for this role is:
22 - 23 USD per hour(Bluestem)
