Starting salary: $58,000
JOB SUMMARY
Provides leadership and is responsible for the overall operations and leadership of program. Works with a range of stakeholders and funders to ensure program goals are achieved and the timely submission of reporting.
Youth Diversion Program
Responsible for overseeing all functions related to the Youth Diversion Team Program and will have a Bachelor's Degree in juvenile/criminal justice, community planning, or social work administration. He or she will develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Police Departments, Public Schools, Juvenile Probation, DCF, and all area service providers who may provide services to children, youth and families appearing before the community YDT. They will develop referral procedures; develop and maintain a training plan for orientation and ongoing training of community YDT members; recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate the Case Manager; monitor all referral and case management forms; maintain all data for the statewide evaluation; schedule and manage community YDT meetings and represent the Contractor at these and other meetings as needed; be knowledgeable about Restorative Justice Principles to ensure that they are incorporated into the community YDT and perform all other related duties as required.
** Travel is required throughout the state of Connecticut. Our programs serve the following towns:
Bolton Lebanon
Bozrah Lisbon
Chaplin North Stonington
East Windsor Preston
Franklin Sprague
Hampton Scotland
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans for and ensures the delivery of all required services to each client in the program.
- Works closely with collateral agencies to ensure appropriate transition and discharge planning for clients and/or students.
- Works closely with program staff and other stakeholders to ensure the continuity of services.
- Serves as operational administrator of the program, which includes functions such as business leadership, facilities/grounds management, etc.
- Attends all relevant trainings and planning meetings.
- Provides culturally competent services to all clients and families.
- Participates in regular program meetings.
- Provides supervision to all staff within program, if required by program.
- Ensures documentation as required is entered into the data system in a timely fashion.
- Ensures that the program census is maintained.
- Works as part of a larger multidisciplinary team to respond to client and programmatic needs and with the agency at large.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in juvenile/criminal justice, community planning, or social work administration
EXPERIENCE
- Must be able to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to manage stress and respond to emergency situations safely and calmly.
- Must have a thorough understanding of client needs (behavioral, social, emotional).
- Must be culturally competent to serve our student population.
- Must possess solid general computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
