About This Position

Summary:

The Structural Engineering Intern will perform routine tasksusing well defined standards and procedures under close supervision.

JobDuties and Responsibilities:

• Basicanalysis and design work under close supervision, working in collaborative,multi-discipline teams

• Work underthe supervision of an experienced Structural Engineer

• Developorganizational skills to manage workload with differing priorities,deliverables, and schedules

• Gain exposureto codes typically used in offshore structural design: AISC, ASCE, API, AWS,ISO, etc.

• Gain exposureto a variety of structural challenges in the design of offshore productionfacilities.

• Gain exposureto a variety of software packages used in the everyday operations of aStructural Engineering department: SACS, Excel, Word, MathCad, etc.

• Gain exposureto company design practices and the opportunity to update and improve saidpractices

• Gain exposureto leadership training reading materials, developing a plan, and implementingthat plan

• Assist in thepreparation of project deliverables: design reports, permit applications, drawingpackages, installation procedures, etc.

Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Enrollment in a four (4) year baccalaureateprogram Civil and/or Structural Engineering at an accredited college oruniversity;

• Expected graduation dates between May 2026 orMay 2027 (attained Junior status or above)

• Authorization to work in the United Stateswithout sponsorship now or in the future;

• Candidate must provide a resume as well as thecollege or university transcripts.

AdditionalApplication Requirement

To beconsidered, candidates residing outside of commuting distance to the office arerequired to provide a cover letter regarding their intentions to relocate tothe local area and that the candidate understands that there will be norelocation assistance provided. Candidate outside of commuting distance to the office who do not providea cover letter will not be screened for the position. In addition, the locationof the candidate must be easily identified either on the resume submittal orinformation provided in the registration process.

WorkingConditions:

• Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private office) but also requires occasionaltravel to off-site work locations.

• Field duties require outdoor work in a plantor offshore platform atmosphere;

• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;

• Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areasaround production machinery with extreme noise levels;

• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;

• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;

• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.

Physical Requirements (With orwithout Reasonable Accommodation):

  • Must be able to lift and carry five (5) pounds;
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
