Radio General Manager at AGM CALIFORNIA INC – Bakersfield, California

American General Media is seeking a General Manager to lead and grow an established, tenured team in Bakersfield.

This is a player-coach leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth through coaching, accountability, and strategic direction, while also maintaining and growing market and station business.

This role is not about rebuilding—it is about refining performance, strengthening accountability, and unlocking additional growth from an experienced team.

This is an in-office leadership role requiring daily presence with the team.

• Lead a tenured sales team and elevate overall performance
• Personally manage and grow house accounts
• Coach Account Executives to increase billing, retention, and share of wallet
• Identify performance gaps and implement targeted adjustments to drive growth
• Establish and maintain a culture of accountability, professionalism, and execution
• Align sales efforts with programming, promotions, and digital initiatives
• Actively participate in key account strategy and client relationships
• Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue tracking
• Provide consistent, visible, and engaged leadership within the office
• Represent AGM within the Bakersfield community and business environment

Qualifications

• Proven success in sales leadership and individual revenue generation
• Experience managing and growing tenured sales teams
• Strong coaching and performance management skills
• Ability to balance personal sales responsibilities with leadership duties
• Strategic thinker with a focus on revenue growth and execution
• Strong communication and leadership presence
• Media, radio, or integrated marketing experience preferred

• Measurable growth in market revenue and personal book of business
• Increased performance and accountability across the sales team
• Strong client retention and expanded account revenue
• A stable, engaged, and results-driven team environment
